Adeola Olagunju

Adéọlá embarked on her artistic odyssey by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fine and Applied Arts from the prestigious Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ògbómọ̀ṣọ́, Nigeria, in 2009. Her unwavering passion for the visual arts led her to pursue a Master of Arts (MA) in Photography Studies and Practice at the esteemed Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, where she honed her craft to perfection, graduating in 2021.

Throughout her illustrious career, Adéọlá’s work has transcended borders, captivating audiences worldwide. Her captivating creations have graced the stages of numerous festivals, museums, and galleries in various countries, leaving an indelible mark on the global art scene.

Adéọlá Ọlágúnjú’s exceptional talent has not gone unnoticed, earning her a distinguished list of accolades and awards. Among her many honors, she clinched the prestigious Seydou Keïta Grand Prize for the Best Photographic Creation at the 12th edition of the Bamako Encounters International Biennial for Photography in 2019. Her artistic prowess also garnered recognition in the form of the Young Art Support Amsterdam Award in 2013 and the Lagos Photo Festival Award in 2012.

In addition to these remarkable achievements, Adéọlá was selected as a finalist for the Rolex Mentor & Protégé Arts Initiative in 2019, a testament to her exceptional artistry. Furthermore, she was chosen as the mentee in the photography category at the 5th Edition of Forecast Platform (2020-2021), solidifying her status as a rising star in the realm of contemporary art.
